Velé Muse: Chloe Csadenyi-Benson

Chloe is an architectural designer and social entrepreneur seeking to create meaningful and inspired spaces and experiences.  Combining her passions, Chloe started Gather Seattle as a platform where the food and design communities in Seattle can connect, find inspiration, and ultimately build new friendships around the table

How Has a Friend encouraged you lately?

I have been very fortunate to have friends in my life who have always encouraged me to pursue my dreams.  As an adult, I have also learned to appreciate the friends who challenge me to face fears and dig beyond the surface.

What would you share with a friend who's struggling to know her self worth?

Self-worth is knowing who you are at the core and learning how to listen to your intuition.  We all have inherent gifts that we are meant to share with the world so instead of focusing on what you are lacking, focus on what you can give to the world.  Finding your inner joy is the greatest way to discovering your self-worth.

What does the message “you are worthy and wanted” mean to you?

For me, being worthy and wanted is allowing oneself to feel empowered.  It also means finding ways to be more loving towards ourselves and others.

Chloe is a connector in the best way. She is instantly warm and welcoming but what makes her shine is her ability to gather strangers who leave just hours later as friends. We are grateful to call Chloe our muse.

xx, Lauren

When do you Feel most empowered?

I feel most empowered when I am free to dream and create.  It can come from something as simple as giving myself 5 minutes in the morning to write, or finding time to exercise everyday.  Often feeling empowered is not just about one action, but a series of small actions everyday. Making the decision to go vegetarian in 2012 was empowering in a way I never could have not only made me feel better physically, but it helped me realize the power of choice in our everyday lives.

Any favorite quotes when you need a little boost?

“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.” - Amelia Earhart

“Let go of who you think you should be and embrace who you are.” - Brené Brown

What inspired you to start Gather Seattle?

I started Gather Seattle with a desire to bring the food and design communities together to connect and and inspire.  The original concept focused around a shared community kitchen storefront, but after hosting an event I quickly realized the importance of Gather was not about having (or not having) the physical space, but was about building community and meaningful conversation around the table.
